New Delhi: Mahadevi Verma, Hindi poet, freedom fighter, women rights activist and academician was celebrated, awarded by Google with a doodle. In 1982, Mahadevi Verma got Gyanpeeth Award for his outstanding contributions to Indian literature on 27th April. Google is celebrating this day in honor of the convertible poet. Google doodle, created by guest artist Sonali Zohra, the poet wrote his thoughts in beautiful verses under a tree on a bright afternoon field. Also known as 'Modern Meera', Mahadevi Verma was born on April 27, 1907, in a conservative family in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.
